Background

Robert Kern has spent his legal career fighting for the rights of individuals against national banks, insurance companies and major corporations. Robert’s professional career has led him to concentrate on legal writing, motions and appeals. After working as an appellate attorney with his own law firm for many years, Robert joined the legal team at Paul Padda Law to lend his talents to providing appellate and litigation support to the firm’s clients and cases.

Robert received his undergraduate education at Valdosta State University. He later attended and graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2000 where he was undefeated in intercollegiate competition as captain of the International Moot Court team and helped found the South Carolina Journal of International Law and Business. In the first case he handled as a student, Robert won a major appeal tha redefined South Carolina defamation law and which is still taught in law school today. Robert’s journey has included working as a high-school teacher, a Hollywood talent agent and as an actor before beginning his legal career.

Robert’s devotion to justice goes beyond the courtroom. He met with the White House during the housing crisis to demand relief for everyday Americans and he helped create the Nevada Homeowner’s Bill of Rights, acted as general counsel to a Nevada state political party and frequently testifies before the Nevada Supreme Court and legislature to improve Nevada’s laws.

Robert has been regularly recognized as an AV-rated attorney by the Martindale-Hubbell rating service, has received the Client Distinction and Cient Champion Awards from that rating agency in past years and was named to the pro bono honor roll by Nevada Lawyer magazine. In his pro bono work, Robert has worked with the Children’s Attorney Project administered by the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada in which he represented foster children in court proceedings.

Robert is admitted to practice law in Nevada and California. He regularly appears in state and federal courts in Nevada in a variety of legal matters. He is also an active member of the Nevada chapters of the Federal Bar Association and the Nevada Justice Association.

Outside of the office, Robert enjoys carpentry, kayaking and fostering feral kittens.
