Background
Michael Humphreys is an accomplished trial attorney with significant jury trial experience. When the stakes are high, Michael is the type of attorney you especially want on your team. No stranger to the inside of a courtroom, Michael spent the majority of his professional career serving as a federal civil and criminal attorney. As a former federal prosecutor (Assistant United States Attorney), Michael has litigated complex cases in several different jurisdictions across the United States. His greatest talent is being able to take a large amount of information and present it to a jury in a compelling and interesting manner. The most powerful force in the course of human history has been the spoken and written word. Michael is a skilled advocate who knows how to tell a client’s story. Our law firm’s founder, Paul Padda, met Michael when they were both federal prosecutors at the United States Attorney’s Office in Washington, D.C.. They remain good friends and now colleagues as they advocate for clients across the United States.
Although there are many personal injury law firms, very few of them handle cases in federal courts. Why? Because federal court process and procedure can be complex and federal court is generally viewed as a forum favorable to defendants. In federal court, a civil jury must return a unanimous verdict for a plaintiff to prevail. Thus, it takes a unique personal injury firm to handle the complexities of federal civil litigation.
At Paul Padda Law, our attorneys are not afraid of federal court. We have the experience and skills to successfully litigate personal injury, employment, and commercial cases in federal court – including cases against the government. Both Paul Padda and Michael Humphreys were former federal prosecutors and are respected by federal judges. Not only that, prior to arriving in Las Vegas, they both litigated cases in Washington, D.C. at the United States Department of Justice which is the most elite jurisdiction for federal trial attorneys. If you can litigate in the nation’s capital, you can litigate anywhere.
When you want a skilled lawyer for federal court, you definitely want Michael Humphreys on your team. A graduate of the University of Michigan, where he received his undergraduate education, Michael received his law degree from Howard University in Washington, D.C. Michael is licensed to practice in Washington, D.C. When he’s not busy working, Michael enjoys golfing and traveling.
